Community Guidelines

Welcome to the SDL Community!

Our mission is to provide a welcoming, safe, and positive space for all members to connect, share, and support one another. These guidelines apply to all interactions, both inside and outside the community, as every member represents and impacts our community’s wellbeing.

1. Respect and Courtesy

  • Treat every member with respect, kindness, and empathy. Harassment, threats, or discriminatory behaviour inside or outside the community will not be tolerated.

  • Members are expected to uphold these standards in all forms of communication and interaction, regardless of where they occur.

2. Safety and Privacy

  • Do not harass, stalk, intimidate, or engage in any harmful behaviour toward members, inside or outside the community.

  • Access to member information: Some members may have access to others’ contact details (e.g. phone numbers, WhatsApp pictures, LinkedIn profiles). This information must only be used for community-related purposes and never for harassment, unsolicited sales, bulk messaging, or any behaviour that could cause harm or discomfort.

  • Sharing another member’s personal information or private communications without explicit consent is strictly prohibited.

  • If you experience or witness any threatening, unsafe, or inappropriate use of member information, report it confidentially to the moderation team immediately.

3. Inclusivity

  • We welcome and respect members of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities.

  • Discriminatory language or behaviour (sexist, racist, ableist, homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise) inside or outside the community is strictly prohibited and may result in removal.

4. Appropriate Content

  • Do not post or share content that is violent, explicit, illegal, hateful, or intended to harm others.

  • Avoid trolling, spamming, or excessive self-promotion.

  • Promotions or advertisements (whether personal, company-related, or on behalf of others) must receive prior approval from a moderator before being posted.

  • Content should align with the purpose of the community: sharing insights, fostering collaboration, and supporting one another’s growth.

5. Raising Concerns & Psychological Safety

We want this community to be a safe and supportive space for everyone. While we strive to maintain a positive and secure environment, we cannot guarantee complete safety, particularly regarding interactions or activities outside our direct control.

If at any point you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or believe another member’s behaviour could undermine the wellbeing of the group:

  • How to raise concerns:

    • Email the moderation team at hello@salesdevelopmentleaders.com

    • Or, send a direct message to any moderator in the group

    • Moderators: Richard Belson, Emily Parker, Stratford Canning, Ben Smith

  • Confidentiality: All reports are handled in strict confidence. Your name will not be shared without your permission.

    • However, if we believe there is a risk of harm to you or others, we may need to escalate the matter to ensure everyone’s safety.

  • What happens next: The moderators will:

    1. Acknowledge receipt of your concern promptly

    2. Review the situation carefully and discreetly

    3. Take appropriate action to ensure the community remains safe and respectful

We encourage open communication - raising concerns early helps us maintain psychological safety for everyone.

6. Moderation and Enforcement

  • Moderators have the authority to take necessary actions, including warnings, content removal, or banning, to protect the community and its members.

  • Behaviour that occurs outside the community but affects member safety, trust, or wellbeing may also be grounds for intervention or removal.

  • By joining the community, members agree to abide by these guidelines and accept that moderator decisions are final.

7. Reporting and Accountability

  • Report any behaviour that violates these guidelines to the moderation team at hello@salesdevelopmentleaders.com. Reports are handled confidentially and with the utmost seriousness.

  • Members who violate these guidelines risk removal without warning. Membership removal decisions are final and non-negotiable.

8. Disclaimer & Liability

While we do our utmost to maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful environment, we cannot monitor every interaction or guarantee member behaviour.

  • The SDL moderators are not liable for actions, statements, or conduct of members, whether inside or outside the community.

  • Members are responsible for their own behaviour and for exercising good judgment when engaging with others.

  • By participating in the community, you accept these terms and acknowledge that the moderators’ role is to facilitate a safe space but cannot control every situation.

Together, let’s create a community where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued - both inside the group and beyond.
